Direct Line Insurance wins trademark battle
Direct Autoinsurance of the Line has won hearing in Appeal court against eSure which used similar mark – the mouse with wheels – to the Straight line among advertisements which operate in 2004. The Straight line used phone on wheels in its advertising with 1990.
Only a few days before management of an advertising campaign, eSure have registered the statement of the trade mark for its mouse with mark of wheels. This statement has been rejected by the Straight line on the ground that it was too like own and will benefit illegally by goodwill which the Straight line mark has created for these years.
The straight line then has begun legal battle to interfere with that eSure used its wheel mouse in the further encouragements.
However the Straight line has won hearing in 2006. eSure has addressed, saying that were ‘ errors, basically ’ made the Hearing Official.
